Food Blog: Coca-Cola & Peanuts

First, I gathered the ingredients. A glass bottle Coca-Cola and a bag of salted peanuts. Total cost $3 (!! I'm getting ripped off...)

Next, open the coke and take a big swig.

Then fill it up to the brim with peanuts! This is harder than you'd expect. I had to manually push the peanuts through the hole, I couldn't just pour them in.

With most sugar-filled drinks, the first sip is the best, but not in this case -- peanuts & coke is all about sip #2. The salt from the peanuts mixed with the sugar from the cola: a time-tested pleasure. The hint of peanut added an earthyness rarely found in a soda.

The salt washes off from the peanuts almost immediately, and you're left with something closer to what you'd expect: the strange texture of peanuts suspended in a cola. Still an interesting drink, but less breathtakingly delicious than the first couple salt-and-sugar sips.

The verdict? Yum!
